The Big Lamp Bash - Haslingden.

If you’ve driven through Haslingden lately, you’ve probably noticed the face-lift on Deardengate. That's the Big Lamp Project.

Named after the Victorian street lamp that sits in the middle of town, it’s essentially a massive £3 million injection of life to give Haslingden its swagger back. Restoring the gorgeous old historic shopfronts, widening the pavements, and building a proper, dedicated town square so the community actually has a decent place to link up, host events, and throw community parties - like the Big Lamp Bash.

Spread across the new Big Lamp Square, the Market, and the Library, the Big Lamp Bash showed exactly what this town is all about when it comes together. We had a bit of everything - from the Reynard the Fox theatre show and Dhol drummers to the Ukes of Hazzy, Haslingden Brass Band, local singers, and a proper game of bingo.

Throw in top-tier food from the market traders and brilliant coffee from the team at Ninja Coffee, and it was just a dead good day out with the town showing up in full force. Here’s a quick look at how it went down.
